Unlock Your Productivity This Week
I bet you're very good at planning and to do lists, but then get to the end of the week and wonder why you haven't got everything done.
When you're at your desk and you need to do that work report you planned, your brain will try and stop you.
"We can do it tomorrow."
"No one will realise. That other person hasn't even started their part yet."
"Just check your messages... Actually let's get another coffee."
Sometimes you won't even hear it – you'll just suddenly have your phone in your hand and Instagram open again.
I call this an URGE.
We have urges all day every day and mostly we blindly follow them.
It suddenly feels urgent to pick up your phone or check Slack or do something else.
The good news is: All you need to do here is pause.
Notice your brain wanting to refresh your inbox, or go get a snack, or whatever your particular urge is.
If you give it 30 seconds, it will almost 100% of the time pass.
Stop listening to your brain and its urges.
Just notice it and get back to what you planned.
