For Your Most Overwhelming Day

Last week I was having one of those days.

Jumping between tasks without finishing any of them, watching the clock move faster than I could get things done.

I felt super urgent about everything but nothing was really getting done.

Bella Lively said on one of her calls recently,

“Urgency means you’re going in the wrong direction.”

Now, the last thing I want to do when I feel urgent about my to do list is actually STOP.

I had slides to create, messages to get back to, client check ins to do.

But I’m no good to anyone or any task when I feel urgent, rushed and chaotic, which is exactly where I was at.

So… it was nearly 2pm (and I hadn't taken a lunch break) but I stood up, looked outside at the rain, put my raincoat on, grabbed my umbrella and went for a walk.

I listened to some music, took some deep breaths and told you on my IG what was going on.

After a 15 minute walk, I spent 15 minutes planning out what I could get done for the rest of the day (I use my FREED method for this).

Then I had 2 focused, productive hours – the slides were done, all messages and check ins were done from a calm place, and voila, I was ready to log off and enjoy my evening.

Next post, I’ll share where I went wrong in the first place!
