How Much Do I Spend On Self Care?

When I say you can bring anything to coaching, I mean you can bring anything to coaching.

I now spend $80 (gasp) on getting my nails done each month. Yes, I still gasp when I say that out loud.

And I got coached to get here. I was saying to my coach

“I want to be on a regular schedule with my nails but something always holds me back from booking the next appointment. It feels frivolous and like a waste of my time.”

Don’t get me wrong, getting my nails done still feels like a waste of time, but that feeling after…. Ahhh... so good.

I love typing, writing, casually moving my hair off my forehead in the car rearview mirror and seeing them. I do it all after my nails are fresh.

In order to get there, I asked myself these questions.

If you want to get on a regular schedule with something like this, use these questions too:

  1. Why does this feel important?

  2. Why do I have the desire to do it?

  3. What would I get out of it?

  4. What kind of message would it send to myself? (This question is my favourite! For me, with my nails, that I am important, worthy, fancy…)

  5. What ideas do I have about booking the next appointment that are slowing me down? What’s stopping me?

Take these into your week and let me know if you make that next appointment!
